They are rewriting history, censoring science, and defunding math and non-English language classes. In fact, in general, it widely accepted that US News & World Report is not reliable as it is often misleading.

  13. Has anyone ever noticed that the United States' greatest geopolitical rivals/enemies always come from Afro-Eur-Asia (the World Island)? Referring to the Soviets' "World Island Theory", the most powerful entities from the World Island seek global dominance and as such see the Outer Islands as a threat to their ambitions. And historically speaking, it's almost always from the Asian Continent. IE: The USSR; Putin's Russia; North Korea's Kim Dynasty; The Chinese Communist Party; Terrorism from Afghanistan & Pakistan; the Islamic Republic of Iran; Anti-democratic sentiment in Arabia & the Gulf; Terrorism in Mesopotamia and the Levant. Nevertheless, as perks of beings a continental castle flanked by two giant oceans, I believe outside perils won't topple the American Empire (as evident by 2 wars of independence, 2 world wars, 2 cold wars, & the Global War on Terror). The only fact that can buckle Pax-Americana -- has been the same since the First Continental Congress -- is dissidence within the Union (for united we stand; divided we fall).

History is no magic genie; it is important to observe history, but one shouldn't live by it. And the very flaw in your "cherry-picking" myth is that Norway ISN'T in the EU. And it doesn't have to be because of the obvious geographic & demographic nuances.
