  1. Based on his judicial voting record and the fact that he is only a moderate conservative, Chief Justice Roberts' vote isn't too surprising when it comes to equal protection rights. What's more surprising is that one of his extremist-conservative colleagues on the bench flipped on a socio-political issue.
