Comments by "King Ace" (@kingace6186) on "Why California High Speed Rail is Struggling (Re-upload)" video.
I was like, "Isn't BART highspeed rail?" And LMFAO, boy was I wrong. "Highspeed rail" can be defined as traveling at an average of 120~150mph with a peak of 190-200 mph. Meanwhile, BART is sweating buckets just to travel at an average of ~35 mph with a maximum of ~70 mph. Living in the States rly is a mixed bag...

@batfurs3001 Sighhh. Must be nice lol. I can't even take a train ride from the Bay Area to Lake Taho... at all. And certain distances on BART, alone, can take up to an hour.

@batfurs3001 I can't contain my jealousy. Public transportation and human-centric infrastructure are such basic things but they are very so vital to society. I really do hope that the US can somehow manage to turn things around, too. At the very least states like California, New York, & Texas should be able to efficiently build high-speed rail. Until then, I will be sure to travel to the Netherlands to check out all the hype!

@batfurs3001 I am interested in some of the big urban centers, but I will be sure to prioritize Delft & South Holland in general. I can tell how passionate you are about it, so I will take your word for it.

33 billion dollars only? Who did the California Highspeed Rail Authority think was going to build it? The Chinese? To build any meaningful high-speed rail in a country that doesn't have a cheap labor force, you gotta invest some serious capital for practical results.

@itsjonny1744 And California is basically the most expensive state in the US to live in. I don't know what the C.H.A.R. was thinking when they thought of that limited figure.
