  1.  @LoremasterYnTaris  In that speech, I think Churchill used "the New World" as a double entendre. 1) For the Americas to join in the war on the side of the Allies -- spearheaded by FDR & the US. 2) For the newer, modern world without World Wars to push the "old world" with World Wars towards a more peaceful era. Winston Churchill was a master of the English language so I wouldn't be surprised if this were true.

  6. LOL. The PROC dismantled that satellite like it was butter. It's scary because they actually have robot arms that are that sophisticated. Still though, pretty funny.

  10. It was a commercial aircraft in the days without GPS. Not everything is a conspiracy. The simpler answer is that an accident happened and the Soviets were so unethical that they decided to shoot it down AFTER IT LEFT THEIR AIRSPACE.

  12. Yeah. It was a real shame. That international incident pretty much rallied a large number of western and non-aligned nations against the Soviet Union during its final days.
