Good old strategic ambiguity,

It's an oversimplification that is objectively true. If you want to send a missile across the world, you use strategic nukes. If you want to deploy it on a battlefield closer, you use a tactical nuke. So, chill

@danielgrigg4809 MAD isn't very comforting and besides the hair-trigger readiness protocol is in itself a danger.

When talking about anything that has to do with the United States Armed Forces, an independent researcher has no way of accurately knowing every facet of the Pentagon's (public) knowledge, even on just one specific subject.

Ah, strategic ambiguity. The US's favorite playbook.

Neutralizing a nuclear missile is done by hitting it in a precise spot with a certain angle so as not to detonate the device; to destroy without triggering. Nukes are actually a lot harder to go off than fiction makes it out to be, which is why lost nukes have never gone off (as far as the general public knows).

This topic has kept me up at night numerous times. I find it disappointing that it is the Israeli's "Iron Dome" that is somehow the most robust ballistic defense system in the world. I find it equally disappointing that -- short of a force field -- the most sophisticated military technologies don't really have a way to thwart the danger posed by nuclear detonation, other than playing a game of the interceptor-gamble. Although, it should not be taken lightly that America and her allies have the most advanced way of tracking every single ballistic missile launched on Earth from intelligence bases, like Pine Gap. I am glad this video came out because it helped me work through all of this anxiety,.

I notice that a lot of people are angry at this video because 1) PolyMatter doesn't know classified information that belongs to the Pentagon, and 2) PolyMatter just scared the crap out of tons of Americans. Regardless, as an American, thank you for this great, informative, and well-intentioned video!

@jossbraakman6518 But be fun to be so pompous and conceited.
