  1. As a Gen Z adult, I do worry that we are not transitioning to renewable energy fast enough due to lobbying groups and oil cartels. But overall I get why the Biden Administration had to ramp up oil production. Of course, energy independence is ridiculously important, but so is keeping prices manageable. The inflation from pandemic supply chain issues, price gouging, and Russia's invasion have already put immense stress on working class people. So they had to be pragmatic by expanding production of both fossil fuels and renewable energy.
