  1. I mean, Costa Rica has that luxury because it is "protected" by the American sphere. America always has to have a defense force, but all that necessity changes when we get to the military-industrial complex tier of the American Military. The problem is more about how and why, than what.

  2.  Vini Yellow  Like Bliken tried to tell Obama when Asad crossed his red lines, "Superpowers don't bluff". But he and most other US officials often did bluff which canceled out all of the benefits of the complex. Basically, what's the point of a world police that doesn't do its job.
