Johnny always interesting deep dives on topics like this, especially about the US Government. The team's journalism is independent, so they can only cover on topic every 2 weeks. If they haven't reported on something it's because they haven't gotten to it yet.

Honestly, the "Deep State" is a lot more boring than fiction thrillers and conspiracy theorist would like people to believe. It's basically Intelligence networking amongst those in power that collectively and "conveniently" work for their own individual ambitions, even if it means going against the country's interest. So, in reality, it is a lot more private phone calls, exclusive house parties, and secretive retreats; instead of illuminati-esque cabals, figurehead presidents, and evil shadow organizations.

Because the CIA and FBI have changed over the years. That was, until 9/11. But either way, neither are the menaces they once used to be. That's the NSA. The NSA is currently the most powerful intelligence agency.

Nah he is a traitor. On top of exposing mass surveillance, he released information that compromised several on-the-ground operatives from all Five-Eyes countries. Lots of people died or got tortured because of his indiscriminate whistleblowing. (Whistleblowing should always be done responsibly.) Then he fled to Russia and now has Russian citizenship. He is no Chelsea Manning. Manning is a hero + she served her time and is now free. Meanwhile, Snowden is in Moscow.
