  1.  @IBeforeAExceptAfterK  What are you yapping about? Religious persecution was very prevalent in Europe. Catholics, Orthodoxs, and Protestants all did "unholy" things to each other. So obvious by the time Puritanism sprang up, they were also persecuted. Everyone thought that their Christianity was the "right way" to worship. The Puritans colonized New England to make a place where they can practice their religion. (But not all religions. They did not establish religious tolerance. They just established a place for only their brand of Christianity.)
