As a society, we can not allow the 14th Amendment to be weakened. ...My gut also tells me that this election is too important to leave up to the Electoral College. We tried that in 2016.

  2. Probably not because we have a corrupt federal Supreme Court. But constitutionally-speaking, they should uphold the decision. At least, Maine SecState & the Supreme Court of Colorado will go down in history as protectors of the US Constitution ....unlike Michigan's spineless SC.

To be fair to the drafters of the 14th Amendment and the Colorado Supreme Court, during the Reconstruction Era, none could have expected that the highest officer of the land (the President) would ever be an insurrectionist. After all, during the Civil War, the Oval Office was held by none other than President Abraham Lincoln, the savior of the Union. Hell, even going back to the first President, George Washington was the first American head-of-state to put down an insurrection.
