  5. I do believe that Washington needs to reinstate the Monroe Doctrine, but it most likely would happen next decade. After all, in the 2020s, the near-hyperpower has contended with war in Europe, a sincere pivot to Asia, and peacemaking in Africa (specifically, stabilizing the Horn of Africa). But, nevertheless, in the 2030s, Washington must abandon its neglectful behavior and reprioritize Latin America in an ethical manner (this is unheard of, I know). Staying with ethics, the reason China's power projection should be handled is because of Beijing also follows the exploitative theme that has haunted the Americas. Swapping one form of "colonization" for another is redundantly costly, despite the massive economic benefits seen with partnering with PROC. Therefore, the United States needs to make a return to the continent with a brand new playbook of "empowerment > exploitation".
