  1. Same old story. Engulfing Europe with Russification. But, uniquely, by historical standards, these coerced referendums are the weakest reach the Kremlin has managed to project. Truly gone, are the days when Moscow could control half of a continent (+plus half the well); especially gone are the days when Tsar Alexander punched all the way through until Paris. And, in the hopes of resurrecting the Spirit of Helsinki, may these annexations, too, fail.

  5. Honestly, it doesn't matter if it is still a Special Military Operation anymore, so anything goes as long as it's not called a war. Or at least that is what the Kremlin's rhetoric is implying. A classic bid for brinksmanship and with their nuclear umbrella trying to be "extended through annexation", it is baiting an escalation on its own terms.
