The Moscow stock exchange had suspended trading earlier on Thursday but when dealing resumed, stocks went into free-fall. The MOEX index dropped as much as 45%. While the RTS index — which is denominated in dollars — ended the day with losses of 39%. TheCrash wiped about $70 billion off the value of Russia’s biggest companies. Additional sanctions from the U.S., wiped out almost $200 billion in stock-market value and roughly a third of the sovereign debt’s value. The ruble sank to a record low, the cost of insuring Russian debt against default soared to the highest since 2009, and stocks ended the main trading session down 33% -- their biggest-ever retreat.  I have a wheel barrel full of rubles I'm trying to give away for $2.00.
