In May of 2018, when China's President Xi Jinping, leader of the COMMUNIST PARTY of China, changed the country’s constitution to allow him to stay in power indefinitely, Trump, who admires dictators, said he thought the Chinese president’s power grab was a good idea, and he had dreams of doing the same thing.
Trump: “He’s now president for life. President for life. No, he’s great,” Trump said. “And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot someday.”

At the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked a question as he left Independence Hall on the final day of deliberation. Benjamin Franklin replied: “A republic....if you can keep it.”
