  1. Assault rifles were specifically designed to gun down larger amounts of people in a very efficient, and effective manner. And once again, that weapon performed perfectly, the same way it performed in the school shootings, church shootings, concert shootings, nightclub shootings, movie theatre shootings, and domestic home shootings.  That's why the assault rifle is the preferred weapon of choice for mass shooters.  And that's why it has no business being sold to the public. America has proven that allowing these types of weapons to be sold to the public is the height of irresponsibility. What's worse, these weapons of mass destruction have been allowed to be sold simply out of greed. Gun nutters and the NRA should be forced to walk through the crime scenes of schools after every mass shooting before the bodies of our kids are removed.  They should be forced to place those bodies in body bags themselves,  and then forced to clean the crime scene.   2. jay r I'm a Marine veteran with years of extensive weapons training, CQB training , from handguns, rifles, shotguns, light and crew serve weapons(heavy guns). I'm also a gun owner myself. And these assault weapons serve no other purpose than what we see them being used for. The fact that you have never used one in a mass shooting is TOTALLY irrelevant. Because this isn't about you, this about trying to save lives. You are dismissed.

  3. jay r That's just it, I do know better. And I know exactly what that weapon is capable of., I know the carnage it's capable of reaping. And it doesn't matter that it's simi-automatic, and it doesn't matter what you choose to call it. The only thing that matters is what it's capable of doing. It's the weapon of choice for mass shooters for reason.
