  1. Not a pivot. Simply a reach for new demographic. I would guess that most of the people Andrew Yang's ad was seen by hadn't heard of him. The ad mentions Andrew's name more than a dozen time (voice and print). I have heard that Google searches for Yang increased in Iowa after the ad hit. So maybe he doesn't have to lay out all the specifics of his campaign in the first ad -- just get people to hear the name and google the name. As a veteran Yang Ganger, I think this is/was successful. I'll donate more! Yang 2020! FORWARD!
