  1. I'm not a geek or computer nerd. I can change a hard drive in a desktop, but not much more. I bought my first PC in 1983. It came with a whopping 10-meg hard drive and a thick three-ring binder simply titled, "DOS." I knew nothing about computers, didn't even know anyone who owned one. I read and reread this manual cover to cover several times. By the third time I started to understand the concepts and procedures. Now after years with Windows I am again learning how to use the command line. Now, at 76 years old, I've had enough with the spying and stealing of my data. I am instituting my Personal Digital Privacy Project. I'm deGoogle-ing a phone, installing Linux Mint on two laptops, and setting up a NAS to get my life out of the cloud. A few days ago I couldn't even spell NAS. Now I have the concepts and procedures firmly within my grasp. I've also taken a sledgehammer to all my Smart devices (good bye dear Alexa) and quit all social media except YouTube. I'm learning how to find what I am looking for on YT without signing in. I'm looking at this as a hobby. A very, very serious hobby. I probably won't get to 100% safe, but I'll get close enough. Thanks Rob for your teachings.
