  1. I think they use mRNA which codes for a soluble form of the antigenic protein. In that case, no, the antigenic protein wouldn't be expressed on the surface of the cell; it would be secreted into the bloodstream. Yes, this story Dr. Campbell tells is scary, but if the mRNA were causing the type of trouble he describes - inflammation of the heart and so on -- it would have been seen in the earlier tests of mRNA vaccination as a general technique, which was done before COVID and was the reason the scientists were willing to try mRNA vaccines in human patients when we needed to (for COVID).
