  1. The comic books are probably not directed specifically toward children. There are a lot of old timers in that picture captain America is probably the oldest he’s been around since World War II. I also see Thor who was of course the Nordic god of thunder but only became a comic book character in the early 1960s. I also think I’m seeing some of the X-Men there and while the original X-Men were first created in the early 1960s, some of the characters who joined later didn’t show up until the 1980s. So there may be some younger people, but the old timers dominate. oh Iron Man’s there too and he is another one who dates back to the early 1960s.
