All these discussions keep failing to mention why we care about who rules Ukraine. It’s not because we love democracy or freedom. It’s not because we care about Russian aggression itself. It’s because Ukraine has very rich deposits of strategic minerals like lithium and rare-earth metals, and they are not (yet) controlled by China.
