  1. Nice! Hurry up with the A1 video; I really want to see the insides, especially the water jacket. Was it a simple tank with the barrel running through, or was there some internal piping? Also, just to note, I have seen a photo of US Marines carrying an M1917 in the Korean War. From the day when 'heavy' machine guns were employed like artillery.

  2. I've heard the same about the gaskets. If you look closely at video of the gun firing, you can see the barrel reciprocating slightly, so there has to be a good seal to retain water.
