  1. It's a long shot, but I remember handling Galil's from a collection being sold here in Birmingham back in the '90s, but it would be neat if these were the guns. When I was a kid, I was all grins watching a news article showing off all the neat features of the rifle. Those long magazines always bugged me, though. They make firing from a low prone a bit difficult. Accepting M16s as a substitute is also a quiet testimony to the 'finiky' AR's actual tolerance of crud.
