  3. I haven't seen the movie, but it sounds to me like a deliberate sacrifice to creativity to enhance suspense and action. The producers may have gotten the idea from accounts of using M2 .50 cals for precision shots, not understanding that Brownings fired from a closed bolt, avoiding the issues Ian describes with open-bolt MGs.
