  1. The trigger disconnect sounds analogous to the firing pin safeties in pistols starting in the '70s; not a thing until increasing safety consciousness demanded it. As a control, I wish Matt could have run the 1897 in the various stages, triggering each shot. It would have also been enlightening as a comparison to the truly modern shotty.
