  1. The Marines actually fielded the M240 ahead of the Army. When the Army finished their assessment of the M240C, the Marines bought the guns essentially as scrap, then purchased trigger kits from FN, and fielded the guns as M240G, while the Army was still evaluating the M240Bs.
