@monkeystank5241 , South America is a rich continent. Same with Africa. They are that way because of Capitalism and imperialism. The USA has 5% of the world's population but uses up over 30% of the resources. These are expropriated from 3rd world countries. That's why the USA has over one thousand major military bases around the world, with over 2 thousand minor bases and god knows how many lily pads. hell, they even train death squads on American soil. Do you have any idea how many times the USA has attacked Venezuela over the last 19 years? 1. "The US intervention in Venezuela is the longest war of our century-- (eighteen years) – exceeding the US invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. The conflict also illustrates how the US relies on regional clients and overseas allies to provide cover for imperial power grabs." ~ James Petras (the American Sociological Review, British Journal of Sociology, Social Research, and Journal of Peasant Studies) https://petras.lahaine.org/peculiarities-of-us-imperialism-in-latin/ 2. United States & Venezuela: A Historical Background. https://petras.lahaine.org/united-states-and-venezuela-a-historical/ But anyway, democratic socialism is democratic. Nothing wrong with that. I'm not sure why you are comparing it with National socialism or other right-wing ideologies. Workers should own and control the very things they produce. Those who want to stop workers from achieving this goal like to claim that this fight for freedom with result in evil dictatorships. As if there is no hope or point in even trying to fight for freedom. I don't like having my labor and resources owned by billionaires. :) When i work, i do it to fund my own lifestyle and community. I don't want most of my pay check going to parasites such as Trump. :) Simple, not hard to understand.

@monkeystank5241 , and by the way. Those journals that i cited. (the American Sociological Review, British Journal of Sociology, Social Research, and Journal of Peasant Studies) These are professional journals and subject to per-review. If some one such as James Petras made a mistake, he would be required to make a retraction. He never has had to make one. Ever!

they've always done that. they do that here in Canada as well. Drive up to protesters in unmarked Vans and grab them, and then speed away. They use agent provocateur is here in Canada as well. police cars are left unattended where are they are caught on fire and left to burn for hours. the further you go back in time the worse it was. This is nothing new. It's something we need to move Beyond. Under the capitalist system the government represent the owning class. The writing class, the working class is nothing more than another form of capital. Human livestock. Even the founding fathers were very clear that the country should be government by those who own it.

No. That's not capitalism. Capitalism consists of certain elements. If you remove any one of those elements, it's no longer capitalism. Just like a molecule of water. If you remove one of the hydrogen atoms, then you no longer have water.
