  1. Capitalism is based on Extreme competition and the maximization of capital accumulation. So how can you say it doesn't promote individualism? Adam Smith talked about how capitalism would atomized people, and how that atomization would seriously reduce the ability for a individual to think intelligently.

  2.  @jamesguilford6807  , competition pits people against one another. And that's why it results in extreme individualism, atomization and alienation. Collective forms of social organization do the opposite.
