@benjamindoyle668 And the US truck craze IS a problem for us europeans too. Because of that, we can't get reasonable, honest to good workhorse trucks anymore. They're all thirsty ridiculously sized American style barges with ugly deerkiller front grilles and cheap plastic "luxury" crap. If you need proper working mans pickup, You need to buy japanese one designed in 90's. That's how bad the problem is

... French cars we're quirkiest of the bunch, with emphasis on comfort on any road and catchy looks. Swedish were all in for safety and reliability, Italian cars were all sports and fun, eastern block cars were cheap and practical above anything else

@PT94x True. It never ceases to amaze my how sheepish most people are.

@johnsutcliffe3209 True. Except Land Rover Defender probably. Only seen them really in car buffs collection and in military. Drove them in military and it was by far the worst car I ve ever had to use. Considering the price I seriously question why would anyone would want one over any other off-road capable vehicle.

@James SS I have bluetooth connectivity in my 1997 Audi... Many in if not most retrofit car stereos have it and even "premium model" ones can be had for 100 €.

@CJColvin VAG product quality went downhill around 2006-2010. And yes, servicing and maintenance of Audi is expensive in Europe too. But I don't care of those. Back in 90's Audi had perhaps the best lineup of engine/drivetrain in automotive history, and their bodywork was on top as well, so not much rust problems even after 20-30 years of weathering, And those cars aren't expensive to maintenance. Especially if you do the work yourself.

@startingbark0356 Never seen a DAF pickup? I only really know about DAF 66 and it's successor Volvos, which we're pretty terrible until Volvo ditched the CVT and switched to swedish engines for 360 models.

@startingbark0356 What was their pickup model. I'd be interested to look that up. Were they too CVT's?
