The hukum for war is not all haram, sometimes it's halal when it's justified. And they didn't loot the village or rxping woman or kxll innocents, they kicked the Roman invader of the land. Islam then seems appealing to the local who witnessed this, then they embrace it. Islam came into my country of Malaysia the same way (peacefully) via Arabic Muslim preacher, Indian Muslim trader, and Chinese Muslim admiral..
