It is essentially an append-only storage, so rollback is guaranteed, no matter how much damage is done to fs. Of course, a direct access to the underlying block device should never be allowed, which is, again, trivial in a corporate environment with a network boot.

You clearly do not understand what autoimmune diseases are and what causes them. Ever had an allergy to pollen in some place new to you? This is what a "dirty" environment does. Immune system is far from ideal and glitches all the time. Vaccines are designed the way they do not trigger such glitches, while pretty much anything else in the environment can.
