  2. lol wut?!? Word cannot do anything. No decent typesetting (not just mathematics - it cannot typeset a paragraph of a plain text that would not look like crap), no automation (VBA, really?), no way to render code nicely, no capacity for graphics (flow chart, for example).

  3. Latex is not, but underlying TeX is. It's Turing-complete, you can do anything in it.

  4. Word and alike still cannot do it. TeX variants is the only option available, and will be so quite for a while.

  5. Screw Jupyter. All proper CAS systems have a decent TeX output (including the free ones, like Maxima and Axiom). Jupyter is just a toy.
