  2.  @lawrencedoliveiro9104  homoiconicity is nice, but not really necessary. Rust does not have it, and it is fine. All you need is a way to construct AST easily. E.g., a quasiquotation mechanism.

  3.  @micahrufsvold  yes! And Julia front-end is based on Scheme, which makes it pretty natural to extend.

  4.  @lawrencedoliveiro9104  yep, there is even an out of the box ast module for direct ast construction. Clumsy a bit, compared to Lisp and alike, but doable.
