  1.  @maelstrom57  name a single good thing that appeared in the standard since 1.6. Everything that followed made it just more complex and less suitable for static analysis.

  2. For me the biggest argument against java is existence of any versions after Java 1.6. Java 1.6 was perfect. Everything that followed just ruined it, by thousand tiny cuts.

  3. Java bytecode is verifiable and provably safe in load time. Rust code is partially safe somewhere in compile-time, and even that is not guaranteed. Go figure.
