They do indeed. I was tricked into filling a local council survey which turned out to be run by my MP, and immediately after that found that I'm now subscribed to a disgusting conservative mailing list. They never asked for consent in the survey.

@johnm2012 Of course I unsubscribed immediately, but before that I had to endure an awful, full of bile rant from lee anderson about asylum seekers, which I'm sure borderline falling under hate speech definition, but nobody will do anything anyway. And the thought that tories have my e-mail now just gives me shivers. If I had more time I'd definitely try to go after them for data protection act breach.

@JesusHChrist-q9d I can relate, I had such bans a couple of times for describing them with a word for pink cured meat product... In response to them using outright racial slurs. Guess who was not banned?
