  6. ULEZ expansion IS popular. Only a vocal minority of the most deranged and deplorable are against it. They can and should be ignored.

  7.  @jjefferyworboys8138  almost nobody need to own a car in the modern world, with an exception for farmers, tradesmen (and there are different rules for vans anyway) and taxi drivers (of which we have far too many already).

  8.  @stevec6427  this is why ULEZ is in London, and not in some rural area. Surely, public transport need a lot of investment before punitive measures are implemented, but in London it's already adequate, so it's a right time to introduce punitive measures against car users.

  15.  @stevec6427  Exactly! Only a very loud minority is against ULEZ, and we should not really listen to them. The only right way of dealing with the anti-ULEZ crowd is to mock then, ostracize them. They're the enemies and deserve no civility.

  16.  @jamiestanton9491  it does indeed nudge people to change habits and to ditch their cars. Financial stick is always a better option than various carrots. The more people are forced out of driving, the better for all of us.
