If this is Trump's Brown Shirts many of them are veterans who, after being deployed too many times or who had pre-existing personality disorders, were unable to find a way to fit back into society. They are accustomed to the use of the military tactics they learned overseas and brought home. Men who joined the military as boys without developing the job skills they would need when they returned. Many lack the academic skills needed to make use of the free college offered through their veterans benefits the way my oldest son did. They are unskilled labor with few interpersonal or basic life skills they find themselves with no place to belong which is something we all need as human beings. In Trump's gestapo they not only find a community to belong to but but a way to use their military skills. Quite a different kind of experience than that of my son who was a brilliant student and spent his time in the Airforce first sharpening his already excellent computer skills then working on the early development of artificial intelligence. Taking a break from the military he used his benefits to get his BA then reenlisted long enough to retire from the military and begin a second career as a software engineer while going for his Masters degree online after work. While he intends to continue to further his education he says he enjoys what he's doing too much to go into management but will if he starts to experience burnout. If the members of the Trump Brown Shirts had his mental capacity and desire to continue learning we would be far safer as a society. If we had Bernie Sanders' free state college or jobs training program we would be a far better society with fewer people who would be tempted to join Trump's war against our own country. We also wouldn't have to import so much of our professional workforce or have an excess of low paid unskilled labor. Labor that was once useful in factory jobs with unions, benefits and good pay.
