That's not the main argument, the main argument is they've had stagnant wages for over 10 years and their pensions were repealed, which they want reinstated

@gw6496 if Boeing could replace 33,000 skilled machinists they would, but they can't

Are you serious? Executives are getting 8 figure salaries, they spent 43 billion dollars on stock buybacks in the past 10 years while giving the workers nothing. No, management has brought Boeing down, but they're not going to exploit these workers any longer.

Blackmail? This is capitalism, plain and simple, you fight for your paycheck

They don't have a choice, their previous contract was 10 years, you're not allowed to strike during that time, it just ran out this month, they have to negotiate a new long term deal and after a decade of no raises and repealed pensions they are rightfully pissed

@theirishprofessor-k1x agreed, hopefully a solution is reached sooner rather than later, but whatever happens they'll be digging into another multi-year contract that will prohibit striking
1
Now is the only time to strike, as determined by their contracts

@rickg882 we'll see in the upcoming reports, but I wouldn't rule anything out, Boeing being weak right now also means they have less bargaining room. Regardless I hope the workers get a good raise

Then you clearly don't know what they do, or who's responsible for the lack of quality.
