....no? Where'd you get that idea

And who's gonna ban them exactly?

Not likely, the US has dozens of other trade partners, Russia has been cut off from thirty, they're going to hurt more

Mate you're not fooling anyone. Everyone knows these sanctions will hurt Russia more than the west

@jakekaywell5972 that's the secondary description

If the Soviet Union, a state with complete power, encompassing half of Europe and Asia couldn't build a decent airliner in the 70 years it existed, what makes you think the smaller, less powerful Russian federation can

@johnjonson9126 firstly you're wrong about Aeroflot being the first to use commercial jets. The first commercial jetliner was the de Havilland Comet, made its maiden voyage in 1949 and its first commercial flight in 1952 for the BOAC. Aeroflot only started using jetliners in 1956 Secondly Putin clearly placed an importance on Russian nationalism amidst the animosity with the west and the retaliation to the Crimea invasion and subsequent occupation and yet no Russian aircraft manufacturer has come out with a decent aircraft in the 8 years since said occupation. Before that the USSR desperately tried to compete with western commercial jets and failed more and more as the years went on. Simply put Russia doesn't have the industry power to manufacture commercially viable, safe jetliners, if they could they would have done it already Thirdly you act as if Russia has happily done business with Boeing and Airbus without a care in the world for their own manufactured aircraft, if you think so that's either willful ignorance or naivety. Putin has tried to make a domestic aircraft manufacturer work, but Russia simply doesn't have the means to do it, unless you're planning on going back to turboprops for your domestic flights. This is going to cut both ways, Russia will lose far more than it will gain by stealing hundreds of aircraft from the two biggest manufacturers on the globe. It's economy has already taken a enormous hit from worldwide retaliation due to the Ukrainian invasion

@johnjonson9126 oh yes because commercial aviation was created in a Russian cave and the west took credit. Aeroflot and de Havilland published their records genius, there are short films made about the comet when it came out in 1949

Yes, there's plenty of nations that can supply that, it'll be more expensive but it's more than survivable
