The situation in Texas is primarily due to gas freezing in the pipes which makes them unusable to generate electricity or power the water systems. It's natural gas power stations that failed

Electricity can production can, and is in the process of, being changed. A combustion engine can never change

@CrustyCurmudgeon I disagree, renewable energy production as a percentage of net production has more than doubled in the past 15, years from roughly 9.5% in 2006 to it now being about 20.5% in 2021. With other countries improving and switching to renewable energy sources it's clear it can be done and with efficiencies improving year by year it's not as you would call a pipedream However that said I do agree that nuclear is a great alternative to coal and natural gas with the US being the best country in the world in terms of the infrastructure to support nuclear energy so hopefully that will be invested in if plausible One thing is certain, coal will by phased out as a means of energy production in the near (probably within the next hundred years) future. Natural gas will probably still remain relevant to substitute energy production when wind and solar aren't collecting but renewables are only growing in prevalence. National and international communities have an increasing demand for renewable energy production and any democratically elected government will have to follow that demand. It can and most likely will be done

Government built the roads that allowed the car to become successful in the first place, without it the car would never have become a feasible means of transport

Tesla has an 8 year or 150,000 mile warranty on their batteries, where are you getting your one year claim from?

The average age of a Tesla owner is 54 years old genius

@ryansgale22 you said that "all of the hipster millenials are going to have their hearts broken when reality settles in" so you attribute owing a Tesla to be being a young, naive hipster that doesn't know how the world works, how a young naive hipster is supposed to afford a 38 000 thousand dollar car I don't know why you'd think that. Fact is most Tesla drivers are are older middle age men who've already had their careers so perhaps you should do some research into why they buy them since you've completely missed the mark with the demographic that buys them

@ryansgale22 then stop talking like the only people interested in Teslas are hipster millenials because that's incorrect
