No that's certainly not the best idea

You know you're not allowed to take a gun everywhere right?

There's a lot of risks in that option

@_flyingcat_7527 if you do try keep in mind that: 1. Unless you're a crack shot or in an isolated area there is a high likelihood you could shoot innocent people running through the crossfire 2. If you start shooting there is a likelihood emergency responders may identify you as the shooter and take you down thereby creating confusion giving the shooter time to do more damage or escape 3. There will be the obvious risk to yourself and those around you once you start shooting

@Jaketheaxman firefighters go through a demanding application process and aren't even trained unless they present the high physical and mental fitness needed for that profession once that's done they are trained for 4 months to know exactly how to handle a fire situation They are well trained, experienced and well equipped to deal with their emergencies as are policeman you and me however are not I can understand a last stand if the shooter is coming towards you but if you as a civilian with minimal if any tactical firearm training try and hunt him down it sounds like a good way to get you and other people killed

@_flyingcat_7527 certainly possible and yes has happened but I would not recommend it based on the risks and their high likelihood especially if you haven't received police or military training
1
@Jaketheaxman unless you're military or police I do not trust your "high stress training" in the slightest and as for texas it was the trained security guard who took down the shooter

@_flyingcat_7527 military basic training for US infantry is over 2 months of back to back training and tests and that's for the most basic of US troops the idea that a civilian who goes to the range once a week to do some shooting being on par with that is ludicrous
