  3. Don't be. There are thousands of flights everyday. Your more likely to get struct by lightning than be in a plane crash

  4. The engines aren't just shifted upwards they're also slightly tilted upwards which gives the said effect on the plane

The A320neo was introduced in 2016 and so far has only had two accidents, neither of which had any on-board fatalities, and neither of which were caused due to manufacturing or maintenance defects. The 737Max was introduced in 2017 and two years later had a fatal accident killing everyone on board, followed by another fatal accident killing everyone on board. In the space of 8 years the Neo has had no fatalities while Boeing had hundreds in 3 years that were directly due to manufacturing and/or maintenance issues, a clear indication that Boeing management severely compromised on safety standards. Airbus isn't in the news because by all accounts they're doing fantastic

If you want to compare the A320, it ran up against the 737 Classic Series, which encompassed about 1,300 deaths from dozens of crashes, far more than the A320 including per capita As for the 737Max yes Boeing are responsible for the crashes because they were not due to lack of maintenance. The MCAS system was designed to be read off of a single sensor with no redundancies, a severe oversight, and it overrode pilot control, causing the crashes. The door blowout on Alaska Airways was due to faulty manufacturing by Spirit Aerosystems, the contractor Boeing hired. These are manufacturing defects by a greedy corporation that lobbied the government to reduce FAA oversight of them. Boeing is indisputably less reputable than Airbus at present, which has an undeniably greater safety record than Boeing.

  8. Yup. There are thousands of flights everyday. I think why people fear flying so much is the thought of being completely unable to save yourself and having to put your life in someone else's hands

  9. Exactly. The FAA needs more funding, most of their regulating of Boeing comes from information Boeing provided and they don't have the funding to do a full sweep on Boeing

  10. One thing I know about air crashes is that there is almost never one reason. When there is a combinations of problems and errors at the right olace and right time, that is when you get a crash
