That's not how reality works. In fact the demographic most likely to have loads of kids are impoverished, working class people, while middle class people more often do not want kids

That's the most inconsequential reason I've ever read on this topic

Civil rights come before population growth
2
Nope, data shows Gen Z are not having kids on the most part, far more so than millennials
2
And unless there are systems in place to minimise that sacrifice people won't have kids, it's just not an acceptable tradeoff
1
And it's due to max out in a few decades and then start declining
1
Definitely not, there are many more consistent metrics with declining birth rates
1
No, that's a small minority of African countries, and that's because Africa is going through it's 3rd world to 1st world boom, which coincides with a population explosion, every other continent has already seen this trend in their recent past
1
That's objectively not true, I know many families that have kids from different partners, it also seems like a very minor part of the greater whole

@martinparmer cost of living, stagnant wages, womens' careers getting axed after having kids, exorbitant housing prices, cuts in education budgets, lack of affordable childcare facilities, the availability of contraception and abortion, the amount of money and time it takes for a career to be established. It's one of the most complex and difficult issues to solve, but I can't say when I've considered the feasibility of having kids that my child being a dictator was ever one of them. It must be for you but surely you can see how whether or not you own a house is of higher importance than societal norms on discipline when it comes to having a child.

Are Haitians the trademark bad immigrants of this election cycle?

That little theory goes out the window when you realise that Eastern societies have the same problem. Or did you forget about the fertility crisis in China, South Korea, Japan and Russia. Even India's fertility rate has fallen below the replacement rate

That's what's going to happen whether we like it or not. Older people represent a much larger portion of the voting bloc, and they will vote in candidates who prioritise their needs, like state funded pension, free transportation for the elderly and rising house prices whilst stripping funding for education and social programmes they don't need. A heavily declining birth rate will screw over younger generations without intervention, so far that intervention has been immigration and media but it's not enough
1
That's just one factor of many, with significant outliers. The more educated have fewer kids, and people with higher degrees of education tend to not be religious
1
As an indicator it typically shows that an economy is matured and first world, but a major decline will be a big detriment to the economy, and the way voting demographics works taxes will be prioritised to older folk, exacerbating how younger people feel unfairly treated and thus won't have kids
1
I can see why you don't have kids
