That's not enough to combat the system. It's not just money, it's time. People have to spend loads of time meal prepping, researching, buying and storing food and then cooking it after a long, hard day at work. Ordering takeout is just so much easier and has next to no federal standards about quality. There needs to be a societal, cultural and lawful shift simultaneously for meaningful change

Carnivore diet isn't recommended, you get tons of energy from vegetables and grains and they shouldn't be skimped on, especially for people of poorer backgrounds.

I know people who are, obesity is a poor person's disease when they're restricted to only a convenience store in close proximity with nothing but tinned and processed crap that's cheaper than spinach or tomatoes and thrice as filling
1
I'm not too sure, I've seen a lot of obese people in the location, and about 23% of our population is obese. When all you can afford is mielies and pap it adds up

Responsible, yes, fault, not necessarily. Is it someone's fault they're fat if their parents raised them on nothing but ultra processed, high fructose corn syrup foods and then send off at 18, obese, never knowing how to cook or even that takeout 4 times a week isn't normal. Is it someone's fault when their metabolism falls through the floor at 35 and what used to be a healthy diet is suddenly far too much food and they increase their weight dramatically. If this issue was simple, 40% of Americans wouldn't be obese, it takes more than guilt tripping to make meaningful change

Even larger than that. This has spread to Africa, South America and Asia. The obesity rate in India is about 23% now

@robertauclair2278 the whole "it's your choice" schtick is all well and good, but won't change anything. Guilt tripping has never worked alone, you need to follow that up with regulations, education and accessibility.

Yes there is, Vitamin C is next to impossible to source from meat alone, so you need citrus fruit for that to avoid scurvy
1
@timsmith148 1. Your lovely little video fails to mention that sailors are famous for getting scurvy on ships due to the lack of citrus fruits, instead relying on the "reputation" of modern carnivores. So it's historic fact Vs his opinion 2. He said you can supplement vitamin C by eating a kilogram of grass-fed, grass-finished beef to get it from there. Now even if I believed that, you're already saying that you'd rather spend an extra $40 on over eating meat rather than 30 cents on an orange lol 3. There are no mainstream studies that have forced people to eat only meat, instead relying on self reports with exemptions for fruit and veg.

Not really. That assumes that everyone gets the same choices about diet and health, the issue is far more complicated than that, otherwise there wouldn't be an obesity epidemic
1
It costs a lot more time and energy to meal plan like that, then there's the fact that it won't taste as good as ultra processed food even though it'll make you feel better later. Our entire society has been eroding the concept of delayed gratification, it's all got to be near instant service now

@goyakat2211 if you think guilt tripping is gonna fix an obesity epidemic then you're just being lazy
1
@goyakat2211 not really, you're just being lazy about it.

Carnivore diet doesn't work, you'll get scurvy. Omnivorous diet has the best results, keeping processed food to a minimum
