The world should be more worried about China than being worried about Russia.

@whosurdaddy1975 The fact is that Taiwan had declared its independence from China long back. And China didn't really bothered that much until the time valuable natural resources were found in Taiwan. And it's not just Taiwan, China is trying to take over many such countries for its natural resources, including African and asian countries like Djibouti, Laos, Zambia and Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka. By offering huge amounts of debts which China knows that they cannot replay, China tries to take over land in these countries and use it for exploiting resources and also as a military base. It's also trying to expand into Indian territory in the Himalayas. So yes, China has expansionist interests.

@whosurdaddy1975 you buying land from your own money is different from this situation. If those countries can't repay the loan, China will use that vulnerability to its advantage. Why is China giving excessive loans to countries who they know can't repay it? It's certainly not for charity and it also does not make business sense. So the intentions are clear.

@whosurdaddy1975 China has expansionist interests, and Taiwan will be its first victim. Unlike Russia, China has a very strong economy and all countries including US are heavily dependent on China. So economic sanctions won't really work on China incase of a war. Plus China's military is second only to US and probably on par with Russia. So China is a much stronger opponent than Russia.

@whosurdaddy1975 "International community recognizes Taiwan as part of China" - really? The US has sent troops to Taiwan in the past to fend off China, and Biden recently said they will help Taiwan in all ways possible if China invades.

@jimbuskist3190 Russia might be more of an immediate threat to the west right now, but in long-term, China is definitely a bigger threat because of the reasons I mentioned above. And China is on odds with more countries as compared to Russia. China is also nuclear capable and can threat US and others if they interfere with its plan like taking over Taiwan. But US won't be able to harm China as much as it can harm Russia because of the reasons I mentioned above.
