  3. The Eh Team Nope bro, we can design batteries to use less Cobalt because we have scientists and engineers working on this multibillion dollar problem. Tesla has already dramatically reduced their use of cobalt.

  4. Somebody Over There The countries with the most energy poverty are going to benefit from solar + batteries the most, since most of these countries are located in high insolation zones. Saudi Arabia and Dubai both had major projects started in 2016 and 2017 that contract solar at 2.9c per kwh. That's the cheapest method of energy generation EVER--cheaper than coal and gas plants.

  5. Solar provides more and more of the world's energy every year because PVs are a manufactured product, which means we continually see efficiency gains and price reductions year after year. Solar power is not 'dilute' anymore, since solar has become cheaper than oil or gas plants per kwh in many regions, recently. He is right about the intermittency problem--but wrong that we don't have anything to store solar energy. We store it in batteries. Batteries get cheaper year by year, which is why we are seeing more and more grid scale battery storage projects. They're cheaper than running natural gas peakers.
