I admit I am over the top against racism and, anti-Semitism but I was raised this way. If I can reach out to just one, even a little, it's worth it. You can't change what you don't acknowledge. I was raised by parents who taught their 7 children to stand up against hate and bias. It was not allowed in our family. I am far from perfect. I too have biases and misconceptions but I was raised to admit them and work to overcome them.

I understand by calling out racism when its obvious invites angry responses, if I can make one racist less hateful I did something good today. Why do I care? My parents taught us about racism and anti sematism early very early in life and it was forbidden in our home and relationships. Im convinced racism was taught and demonstrated with all racists from an early age and must be acknowledged to change.

@ktraglin There are numerous colleges and universities in the U.S.that either aren't accredited or that lose their accreditation and many students don't know enough to research it and they are rewarded with a degree that isn't worth the paper it's written on. When I meet a student I like to ask.

Don't be misled. These videos show a very different place I don't understand. This part of America is extremely racist and homophobic, but they deny it to outsiders who can see it as plain as day. If you don't support Donald Trump or think it's just fine to carry around guns, they run you out of town. It's segregated and it's not the norm. I will soon be verbally attacked for bringing this out in the open.

I lived in the South for one year and the only time they realized how racist they are is when they saw the utter shock on my face. Little kids throwing racist slurs at each other is the norm. It shook me to my core. NE has hate yes. It is so minimal compared to the South. You have NOT lived in the south to make such a blind statement. This upsets me because my parents wouldn't allow it in their home. I was raised to believe it is unacceptable in any form. If you ever visit a bar down south you can expect to be blamed by southerners for the civil war and allowing minorities to push you northerners around. They are not joking. This page is littered with southern racists and they don't know it. It is their norm.

@therealrobertbirchall Today one can find a lot to read about this interesting but unknown shameful part of US history. My education regarding the savage treatment and genocide of our Native Americans was not taught at all. Our early presidents tried to annihilate the Native Americans and you won't find that in public schools. It was reported Hitler used the same horrific ideologies to annihilate the Jewish people. There's a movie "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee." that describes some of it, like a snapshot of history but not the US 1000's of wars and attacks.
