  4. She never should have been tried as an adult. Her confession should have been tossed out. The hate towards this young girl is misguided, understandable, but misguided just the same. What she did was horrible, but everyone in her life was an adult who failed her. She was 14 with an adult predator who lied about his age and BS'd the mother, and the court. If this family were wealthy, she would have at the most, been sent to juvenile. Welcome to America where the rights of the poor and uneducated pay the price for the wealthy who walk, while the poor are used by the justice system to appear noble and tough on crime.

I don't know how you could fathom a child being an adult and old enough to make responsible choices. Her brain functioning is not fully developed yet, she can't drive a car or vote nor is she supposed to be interrogated by seasoned detectives without an adult violating her rights, but no one cares do you know why that allowed that? because they're poor, and uneducated. If they were wealthy she never would have been charged as an adult. Shame on you. When your daughter turns 14 you'll likely change your vengefulness and your mind.
