  1. More precisely, I reject any actors to roles from a specific cultures that do not look like it. I don’t care if they actually are Italian, or if the actress for Cleopatra is actually Greek, but they need to LOOK like the characters in that culture would’ve looked like. Plenty of actors have played characters to look like other ethnicities and successfully. But it just doesn’t work with some drastically different looking races as white and black. You cannot have a black woman look like a white (Italian) woman and vice versa. You can however find an English woman that looks like an Italian, it’s fine.

  3.  @CSA-Software It’s soviet era hyperrealism at work. Like how they repeatedly said how farms recorded maximum yields year after year yet all the shelves are empty and people are lining up around blocks with food stamps in hand trying to get literally anything to not starve. It’s repeating something so outlandish and blatantly false so often until the people become desensitized to it and just repeat it without thinking about it.
