@paulw5039 Exactly what I’m thinking. Probably because these are the kind of people that think whenever there is aversion that just means they "pissed off the right people" leading them to double down on their bad decisions because they’re essentially behaving like teenage girls in puberty

@Electronica27 I never really thought about it like that but yeah, repetitions just enforce what you’re doing, be it good or bad. The twilight series and Stephenie Meyer perfectly encapsulate this as the magnum opus of the "college girl writing some bullshit fanfiction on her free time in her dormitory" that was successful because of all the other college girls and younger girls thinking exactly like her. And it only got worse from there on out. It’s just hedonistic indulgence in senseless pleasure without actual story structure or logical world building or anything of merit beyond the superficial. Which is fine if you just want to do that for yourself, but when it expands beyond that and influences writing everywhere and drags down storytelling of all of Hollywood because that’s the only kind of writing these girls know from growing up, then it’s extremely detrimental for modern storytelling.

@Electronica27 That’s not even a generalization, if you look at the statistics of the fanfiction site, the overwhelming majority are women. These writers are the few girls who wrote fanfiction in college that managed to get actual scriptwriting jobs somehow.
