@minartson About as much a country as Hawaii is?? Which country is Taiwan a state under? Mainland China? The USA? Taiwan has its own constitution, its own government, its own military and is in every bit an independent country. Taiwan is still officially the Republic of China. How is this in any way comparable to Hawaii? You don’t know anything of what you’re talking about

@iandavidvillaloboswong5180 Yeah it’s the PRC to most people officially because of trade relations. Communist China won’t trade with them if they don’t acknowledge them as the true China and it is fundamentally impossible to just rule out 1.3 billion people and their manufacturing power for trade like that. Take the US for example, they also officially acknowledge the PRC as the true China, yet they are on pretty cold relations with them and actively support the ROC militarily and have them integrated into their first island defense chain strategy. Them not being recognized as the legitimate China is nothing but a formality to satisfy the PRC to be able to do business with them.
